Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
What do you recommend I get for cab mounts?
I am planing on going polyurathane for everything else, but I was thinking of going stock rubber mounts for the cab, so it may reduce any bad vibes or perhaps be a little smoother.. think its a good idea? or will polyurathane cab mounts still give a decent ride without vibration. Thanks!

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
I have seen a few complaints about ride quality with the poly cab mounts. That was enough for me. I went with rubber cab mounts and rubber for the trailing arm bushings. Saved some money, and should ride at least as good as stock!

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
It depends on what you plan to use the truck for. If this is for your pro street '67 that is in your signature I would say go with poly. You want to eliminate as much flex as possible between the body and frame as you can so your suspension will not have to compensate for it. You will want to get maximum traction so a harder body mount will help with that.
Since it will be a pro street truck I'd also assume that it won't be daily driven so it shouldn't be that uncomfortable since you won't be dealing with it everyday. If it were to be a daily driver I'd go with rubber. AA

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
I've thought about his too.
Is it true that poly mounts will squeak while driving the truck? I went with a rubber front end rebuild kit - that is all that I found available. I have a poly rear trailing arm bushing kit installed already. My truck will see street duty only on nice days and some track duty if I'm lucky |

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
That would suck having a squeak down in there.
yea it is pro street, so it will not be on the road each day, just when it is nice. i was just thinking of going that way since our roads are pretty rough up here.. I was not sure how much give the poly's have. but if cdowns mirrors are shaking, it must me a pretty good sign of how stiff they are... hmm. still thinking about it..

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
Anytime I run Poly bushings I always put a coating of dielectric grease on them and have never had any squeak, including cab mounts(which I also didn't like the ride from them).

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
I'm doing rubber mounts from LMC and poly spring bushings from Energy. Poly's claim is they deter flex so I would agree that it would stiffen the ride in the cab where a little flex is good.

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
I run poly on my longhorn, & in my app it was needed. With a steel tilt nose, the 4 rubber bushings let the cab squirm too much( I never knew for sure where the clutch would letup!) the poly bushings took care of that problem, & are somewhat harsher than the rubber ones.....but not too bad IMO. I agree, if you are running @ the track, or dont run many miles on the street, go Poly......for a daily driver, you may be happier with rubber. L http://community.webshots.com/user/hotrodhorn

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
I used energy suspension's polyeurethane set on my 69 Burb and love them! I'm running air ride also, so maybe that helps, .

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
i have the energy poly mounts on... i just drive on paved roads and sort but i dont mine them. if your coils are not still than they will absorb shock first anyways.

Re: Cab mounts-Polyurathane or stock rubber???
AFTER SEEING WHAT THE ALL OF THE RUBBER LOOKED LIKE AFTER I DISMANTLED THE ENTIRE TRUCK, I WENT ALL POLY. THEN I PUT SHOCKS ON MY TRUCK AND PUT A SEAT IN THE CAB, THE POLY RIDES GREAT!
