vortex 350
Just picked up my engine for my 71. I was looking at where the spin on oil filter mount should be. But I only see two tapped holes into the block. What am I missing? Parts guy said oil cooler thats a dealer item? I think he's on crack?? 307's which had a canister I bought an spin on adapter. Do they make such an animal for the 94 vortex? Any help appreciated. Always something new I'm not expecting everytime I turn around.

Re: vortex 350
It's a cast aluminum adapter for the oil filter to screw on to. Any small block that uses a spin on oil filter will have one. Try to get a used one, as new from GM is quite pricy (about 50 bucks last I remember). Also, those two bolts are special bolts too. Get them when you get the adapter.

They do sell them for the newer engine but, the last on I bought I don't remember being anywhere near that expensive.RJ22
