Re: Wtb Dash

I might have one up in the top of my garage. What would it be worth and how would it best be shipped? If I remember right when I put it up there last fall it didnt have any cracks on the top of it at all.
I will try to get it down and get some pics in the morning.

Re: Wtb Dash

ever consider buying a molded dash cap?

That's what I did, everyone online wants $80-100 for one and like $20-40 for shipping. I bought one from a local parts guys for $70 and then dyed it blue to match. I have pics if you want to see what one looks like.

Re: Wtb Dash

Ok then let me get ya some pics...

Now keep in mind mine isn't the exact 84 blue, my local body shop supply didn't have the correct SEm dye for it, so they matched it up with a sheet they had of color samples. They tried to get it as best they could. It works good for us because it matches the rest of the truck pretty well, and I plan on later doing the door panels and such. if you want the exact color though I'd look into classic parts or used to be chevyduty, or somewhere who carries the exact 84 sem color. Also if you do the molded cover and SEm dye, get some adhesive promoter to help make sure it sticks.

Or do what I should have done and ordered the thing in blue lol.

Theese may not be the best of pics but I can get more if ya like. it was the first time I ever bought/used/installed a molded cover and I am very happy with it. Fits good, and looks great.

Re: Wtb Dash

I think the only bad spots on mine is around the dash insert on the passenger side. I could have spent some time and filed it down to make it fit better, but we had to get the truck back together the next day, so I didn't get to. That's why it looks a litle off there, I had to trim a small piece in back of the cover to make it fit behind that trim piece in the dash, and then when I glued it I should have used more clamps in that area to hold it just perfect while it sat up.

Oh well ya learn from your mistakes, and it still looks aton better then the old cracked dash ever did.
