Water in Cab

It is raining pretty hard out and when I went to move my truck I could feel water hitting my leg. I looked with a flashlight and saw water leaking into the cab from the underside of the dash pad. Is this a windshield gasket or something more serious? Thanks in advance.

Re: Water in Cab

The best way to diagnose this is to have smeone hold a garden hose on the outside while you look on the inside for the water. Start at the bottom and work up. Look under the dash while the hose is on that area. It is probably the windshield gasket, or a hole under the cowl screen.

Re: Water in Cab

It could be the windshield, it may be from another area of the cowl and just running to that spot. There is a body seam in that area under the cowl, the seam sealer could be dried out also. Do come close inspection around your windshield and cowl areas

Man I type slow. The hose idea helps a lot too.

Re: Water in Cab

Thanks for the replies. I will check that out when the rain goes away. All the underdash wiring is soaked, so it's something I need to fix pretty quickly.
