hydro boost
hello to everyone. I am new to here and just wanted to say what a great place to be. After reading all the threads on here I figured that this would be a great place to get a question answered. Has anyone converted thier four wheel drive blazer over to hydro boost brakes and if you have what did you use and what problems did you encounter? thanks

Re: hydro boost
Welcome to the board. I did this on my 69 K20 and my info will all apply to your K5. Check out this link and let me know if you have any questions.
Got any pics of your K5 that you can post?

Re: hydro boost
The hydroboost uses the power steering pump to make the brakes "power" brakes like the normal power brakes use engine vacuum. For people with modified engines and low vacuum, the hydroboost is a good option since it doesn't work off of engine vacuum. They hydroboost master setup is more compact than the normal vacuum power brake setup, though you do have more hydraulic lines to get it all connected.

Re: hydro boost
So where would I get this set-up from? I can steal one from a later model truck? Do I need a different steering pump?

Re: hydro boost
Find a chevy truck/suburban/blazer that has a diesel and pull everything from it. I think the 73-newer 1-tons also came with it.
