Excessive vibrations?
My 72 C-10 (350/3sp) is vibrating badly under acceleration. Before there was only a slight vibration, but now it shakes the whole truck. It is most noticeable from a stop. At cruising speed it is fine (until acceleration).
What's most likely wrong? Thanks Last edited by young grasshoppa; 04-07-2007 at 05:51 PM. |

Re: Excessive vibrations?
Do you have a 2 piece drive shaft? I would think it's the center support bearing, but that usually causes a vibration even if you aren't accelerating (driving) You could check it if you have one just to rule it out.

U-joint or center support. Better get it fixed or you are in for a surprise.

Re: Excessive vibrations?
if you sit still, left foot on the brake, right one stabbin the gas... do you feel the same vibration?
If so, you need to look towards a tune up. |

Ha Ha Surprise it was! I tried going for another spin, and barely made it down the road. I shattered the drive shaft off of the U Joint. There is play is the support bearing. Luckily it was just down the road from the house. So now there are two things to fix. Thanks for the help |
