Question 6 Lug drum to 5 Lug disk rear end?

I'm converting a 12 bolt 6 lug posi on a 68 SWB to a 5 lug disk.

I have seen a few kits for just axles and some disk setup's.......

Looking for advise who makes the best axle kits and disk setups?

Any adivise on a good source is greatly appreciated......

Re: 6 Lug drum to 5 Lug disk rear end?

not sure about the axles, i know there's a difference and somebody else here will comment on the conversion kits....

As far as disc brakes, glock35ipsc has been making brackets to allow you to swap to 94-96 Impala rotors and calipers, and is currently working on brackets for camaro calipers which will allow you to retain the E-brake. This swap would save you alot of money in the long run over aftermarket kits as the parts are readily available at a fair price.

the link will take you to his for sale thread, which has lots of information.

Re: 6 Lug drum to 5 Lug disk rear end?

Here is another board vendor with very reasonably priced disk options. I just ordered mine from them.

Re: 6 Lug drum to 5 Lug disk rear end?

i converted my 12 bolt six lug in my 70 short c-10 and used cpp's rear disc kit and used a set of five lug yukon axles. the kit bolted write up with no problems and it was a complete kit. i was miss lead though i had to purchase a disc/disc master cylinder to make the brakes operate properly.
