Take a look at Radman's truck in this post

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ghlight=radman

Or there is always the FAQ Wheel/Tire Fitment picture thread to look at. I think Radman has posted there as well with his red shortbox and BIG back tires with lots of sidewall.

Re: 285/70/15 Bfg

Who makes that tire size 285/70-15 ??? BFG Does not have them listed on their site, is this a discontuined size?

For reference sake a 285/70-15 is 30.7" diameter and a 305/50-15 is 27" in diameter.

Re: 285/70/15 Bfg

It's discontinued, but you can buy them from Coker in a wide white wall. Price is $208 each. I talked to one of the guys at Coker and he says they are trying to get BFG to make the standard tire again. I found a couple on craigslist, but got lucky.

Re: 285/70/15 Bfg

well....let me see what I can do for you. Thats what I have on my truck and havent heard anything about them being discontiued. Heres what mine looks like at regular ride height,no drop at all. excuse the ugly truck though, I'm going for ugly truck award or most beat up truck. Thats red one is the reason I cant work on my truck.

Roughedup72, if you look in the latest issue of Hot Rod magizine, there is an add for engine sludge... you can rip that add out, put it on the dash of the red one, and you'll have plenty of money for the truck! (now you gotta go and get the magizine to figure what the heck I'm talkin about)

Longhornman, WTH. Ihappen to love my plastic muscle car. It gets me where I'm going and rather quickly if I decide to. So just cut through the crap and let me know what the add said.

Is it only one side of the tire that has the white wall? Does anyone know if the other side is black?

Thanks

Yeah, just one side, but that's about double what BFG sold the others for.

Re: 285/70/15 Bfg

Thanks uncle,

I just bought a set of 15x10 factory wheels with 4.5" bs. What i'm looking for is a 30" +/- .5" tire that's not a drag radial. Seems that 15" tires are limited in size and going the way of the dinosour sux.....

Re: 285/70/15 Bfg

Back on topic here, I think the truck you're thinking about is Radman's truck. I don't have a pic on my pc here at work. Try a search or pm Radman. He has a 67 swb with the 285's on the back.

A 31x10.50 is close to 285x70 in height and width and can be found everywhere.

Aha! Found them here...

Before anyone asks - size 11 boots for reference, and if you need a mountain bike - $35 for the red one in the background.

Re: 285/70/15 Bfg

I checked at work and they did discontinue this size.If iI would of known this earlier I would of bought all I could of. This is not a bad thing though, because when we discontinue a size it goes on the discontinued tire list for sale and this size will be at a great price. I will keep an eye on the list and if they come up I will buy all of them and pass the savings on.
