Bed cover / tool box for '71 long bed
Hi all,
I recently bought a '71 Chevy long bed pick up with 90k original miles, just a great truck. I'm look at my options for putting on a bed cover and maybe a bed tool box so I can have some storage. Where can I find more info, ideas, options? I'd love to find a local (Chicago, north suburbs) place to buy if anyone knows of one. thanks Bill Oakes Libertyville, IL |

any local parts store should be able to get you an in-bed toolbox, just get one for a mini truck so your bed cover will fit.

Lowes used to carry Delta Boxes. That's where I got the last one I bought. Still in great shape after 4.5 yrs of daily use.

I've been away from the area for about 6 years now and dont remember who sells truck accessories. maybe, just maybe Ray at Dixon Automotive could help you. 847-244-2235 tell him Todd from A1 Amoco says Hi.

I think I've seen them in the Summit Racing catalog; including on that has a section at the front for getting into a bed box, a below bed rail model anyway.

I would have to recommend Weatherguard truck/tool boxes. I'm probably just going to build a flat bed for my truck and am going to get some under bed boxes, but they make all types of nice lockable storage for trucks and vans btw, they have a dealer locator so you could find one close to you. http://www.weatherguard.com/index.php |

Check your local farm store, tsc, orscheln, whoever....(I don't know what chains are in your area) Most of them carry decent quality tool boxes, sears also sells a craftsman in bed model that is aluminum diamond plate and looks real nice.

I am also looking at bed covers for my 69 GMC.
When I came across this one I thought of this post. It is made by TruXedo www.truxedo.com/
