Re: Aftermarket Throttle Bracket Problems.......
I use a cheapo spectre chrome deal from autojunk, it's on my edelbrock carb and weiand intake, on my car that is. I thought about buying a stock sbc bracket because the one I got flops and moves around some, not keeping the cables straight.

Re: Aftermarket Throttle Bracket Problems.......
I made my own out of a medium gauge metal for my truck and my son's truck; and set the tranny cable at the right distance on the bottom and the throttle on top. I notched the bracket to take the factory clips and it works real well. The bracket is held with the one back bolt and I mounted a pin, which is inserted into the spare hole of the carb base to keep it rigid. The carbs are Edelbrock and I am having no problems. Once completed, I powder coated them to match the rest of the brackets on the motors.

Re: Aftermarket Throttle Bracket Problems.......
Yea mines the one back carb bolt deal and it moves if I grab it. I'm afraid of breaking the stud or stripping the intake if I tighten that bolt anymore, or snapping the carb ear off.

Re: Aftermarket Throttle Bracket Problems.......
I actually put some thread locker on it, and tightened the hell out of it. I was also afraid of it stripping, but you can just feel when it's tightening, and when it's gonna strip. Just be real careful. Mine will still move a little, but not bad.

Re: Aftermarket Throttle Bracket Problems.......
Yes it sure did look good, all chrome and shiney.
It won't let me th350 kickdown cable adjust right either. it's a brand new cable and I took all the slack out and it was still half inch or inch too long. I put a bolt in it. Now it works great. Doesn't look so great when I take it to a car show and you see a bolt in the kickdown cable slot but it works.

Re: Aftermarket Throttle Bracket Problems.......
Ordered a TVSystem plate and bracket from Bowtie Overdrive, for a Monte Carlo SS I am working on. Will let you know how it works, but it looks solid.
