Heater Control

my heater control still looks good, and is functional, but all of the pop rivets (at least that's what they look like they were) have pulled through from the face plate to the tin harness thing that holds all 3 cables (non a/c unit)

is there any reason why i couldn't just flare these out again?? I know i can't spot weld the tin housing to the face cause the face is cast, but could i solder it? I really don't want to spend the $100+ with LMC on this, and all of the ones i've seen in the junk yard or on the classifieds here are in much worse shape than mine is.

Re: Heater Control

Ivel in the past I have done this a few times by flattening the rivet back out on the back side and then putting a really large spot of epoxy over the whole rivet to help hold it on the back. takes a while for the epoxy to set up but seems to be pretty strong when all done.
