What do ya'll think????
This is my first try at a custom truck. I have seen extended cabs made before and thought I would give it a try. I have three boys and need to room for the family to ride in it. I plan for it to be a frequent driver if not a daily driver. Tell me what you think and any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
I hope the pictures came through. |

Re: What do ya'll think????
Nice job! Looks like you've got a good start. Keep the pictures coming. I'm building a 4 Door CrewCab myself. I cheated a little, I bought the cab already done. It was originally a long bed, I'm switching it to a SWB and putting in a 5.3 Vortec.

Re: What do ya'll think????
Thanks Hart Rod. It was originally a c20 custom camper with a 350/350 combination. I have a 348 that I want to rebuild and put in it. Here is what I started with. I want to convert to disc brakes. Should I keep the 3/4 ton suspension or be just as well off with 1/2 ton. I don't plan to tow anything more than a fishing boat.

Re: What do ya'll think????
I don't plan on lenghting the frame. I will shorten the bed and either notch the cab support or add a small body lift to clear the frame where it starts to make the upward bend. Taylor, AL is just West of Dothan.

Re: What do ya'll think????
Cool, I'm in Milton, which is east Pensacola. I'm building another frame for my CrewCab (Using a LWB for the front and SWB for the rear). If you're interested in my original Crewcab frame let me know. 33" were added underneath the cab of a longbed frame. You could use it to build your chassis while you worked your cab on the other one.

Re: What do ya'll think????
The firts three pictures shows where I have started to join the drip rails together. I may decide to shave the part behind the door. I don't have anymore pictures of the roof at this time. I will have to fill in with about a 12-16 inch piece to take care of the dip between the two roofs.

Re: What do ya'll think????
Here I am experimenting with cutting down a door and putting it on the extended part. Anyone have any ideas on how to build a hinge post???
