Post Rear Leaf Spring Drop?

Has anyone installed a diffrent rear shackle on the rear leaf spring to drop the back a little? Does anyone make the longer shackles? I realize you can't go much without a "C" notched frame, but I'm only looking for a couple inches. Darren

nobody makes any that go lower if thats what you want. How low do you want to get. I have done extremely large amounts of pulling leafs for different ride heights if you want help.

72,
Thanks for the offer. I was just wondering if there were any other shackle manufacturers. I only want to drop between 2 and 3 inches in the rear. I understand this will make it so I can't haul much in the back. That is ok with me however. Darren

You can remove the flat helper, that should be worth 1/2" alone,& combined with a shackle, you should get a couple inches of drop. If more drop is wanted, you might loose 1 or 2 of the bottom short leafs(this will be experimental),& I would reccomend a set of custom slapper bars to control wheel hop. Good luck........69 longhorn.

If you have the 2 1/2" wide springs (4x4's and I think Longhorns) then you can use the 73-87 shackles, other than that, Early Classics is it for 2 1/4". They are a great company and I would buy theirs even if they were twice as much as anybody elses.
