Manual locking hubs vs. auto locking....
Any unforseen problem with removing worn and broke manual locking hubs on a 85 Blazer and replacing with auto locking hubs from a 84 1/2 ton truck? Both are 10 bolt, 6 lug. thanks...

If it was me,I would not use the auto hubs and atleast get a set of WARN lockouts.They arent expensive and beat the auto hubs that will fail in time

Thanks 1969K - I have had no problems with the autos on the truck since I bought the truck in 1990. I did however, had them apart when I replacd the wheel bearings and u-joints. I have a new set of Warn hubs sitting on a shelf that I forgot about til you mentioned it. The instruction sheets has two part numbers Premium/20990 and Standard/9790 but don't tell what the difference is. They have the plastic locks so, I'm assuming Standard. Might as well use them and make it easier on myself. Thanks for the advice.

They should be the standard ones,like the ones below.I bought them for my 71 and have no problems with them.I would have liked to get heavier duty ones though but these sorta match the rims...lol

I prefer manual hubs. Also, Warn is a local company and their hubs are near bombproof.

I agree, I like the manual hubs alot better. Had too many bad experiences with the auto hubs.

Autos are fine for what most use their 4wds for...no 4wheeling/stock tires or slightly over.I had Warn Loc-O-Matics with 14.50/37s and the grenaded if I wheeled in Auto.Autos great to get out of a slick spot where you don`t really want to hop out,lock,move ten feet,hop out,disengage,and get back in.I wish Warn still made the Loc-O-Matics.I guess people(like me at first)just didn`t follow instructions.They say for off road use and compression braking lock-in.They should have mentioned why.Once I followed the "lock`em in to go 4wheeling/use auto for a quick slippery spot" method they where great.

Also, be aware that the factory auot-locking hubs require a special wheel bearing washer. The lock washer has 4 tabs that enguage part of the auto-hub's internal works. The standard washers (like from older trucks) do not have these tabs.
