Dana axle ID help
I found a dana axle that I am having trouble IDing. Dana's web page does not recognize the number. The casting is 44 5-F. The numbers on the long tube read like this: 10 25 1A4 603351 9. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Dana axle ID help
yes, we can all agree on the 44 status. What I would like to know is what year made, what was it in and what are the goodies inside supposed to be?

Re: Dana axle ID help
If i remember right the Dana database only goes back to '76 or so - anything before it wont be listed.
I have a high pinion D44 from a ~'75 F100 that is not listed either. Post pics and i bet we could help ID it. |

Never did understand why Dana didn't put all the info into their website, but w/e. There are also paper versions of these books, my dad has them both at his work for reference when working on the small trucks. What I'd like to find is one for pre-67 axles. I don't even know if they had the BOM #'s back then.

Re: Dana axle ID help
Link to the PDF file of the Dana/Spicer BOM info for '67 - '78 light truck axles. It is a 3 meg PDF. You will need Acrobat Reader and it can take a while to load from the site.
