WTB: Nice factory dash speaker
I need a nice factory style dash speaker for my 70 GMC, for use with factory AM/FM. My old one is shot. Or let me know of someone that sells new ones. Greg

Re: WTB: Nice factory dash speaker
there are quite a few vendors that sell new ones, but be careful. i think the original radio and speaker are 10 ohm, (i could be wrong here) so if you're using the factory radio (not rebuilt) then make sure you getting the proper 10 ohm speaker. i'll try to find my links

Re: WTB: Nice factory dash speaker
Thanks, Everywhere I've checked only sells dual voice coil or 2 small speakers. Both for new radios. Greg

This is a correct statement, you do infact need a 10 ohm speaker.

Re: WTB: Nice factory dash speaker
I'll check and let you know. I'm sure they have a standard 4 x 10 speaker with 8-10 ohms, but the factory speaker has a bigger metal frame than that. Not sure if a standard 4 x 10 will mount right.
I have e-mailed & called the Turnswitch people with no answers. Greg

Re: WTB: Nice factory dash speaker
Picture from Turnswitch.com. Their new speaker has a plastic frame to match the factroy speaker.
