New guy with some pics '68 in progress.

I have had my '68 for 8 years now and have been doing a bit at a time and now I'm knee deep in body work. I have already built a 454 big block (+.030) with a 177 ci Weiand supercharger, DTS rebuild of my 12 bolt with Moser axles, Auburn diff, Richmond 3.73 gears, big ford bearing c-clip eliminated, and Wilwood 4 piston disk brakes. I also reinforced the trailing arms, a 3/7 drop, and 18x8.5 w/255-55-18 and 20x10 w/325-50-20.

Currently I'm widdening the wheel wells to fit 20x15 w/29x18x20 Mickey T. S/R rubber. Also new doors, one piece windows, windshield, floor pans, rockers, cab corners, front and rear roll pans, wiring harness, new body mount kit, new rubber seals, interior, and some paint.

Future plans are front Wilwood brakes, coilovers all around, frame notch, and complete new steering.

Re: New guy with some pics '68 in progress.

1968 was a very good year. Maybe you could plow a wake for my little stocker to chug behind. Nice brakes you got poking through the tubs.

Keep the pictures coming. Since you're doing body work, tell me more about the paint. Is it original, are you going to keep it original looking on the outside? That is one of the best looking tail gates I have seen.

Re: New guy with some pics '68 in progress.

I've been struggling with the wheel wells. The new steel dosen't quite match as usual. As for the paint the sticker in the glove box says its saddle brown, I plan on painting it brandywine red (house of colors).
If anyone is wondering I took it down the strip a few times to shake it down and tosee if I could brake something. I had trouble hooking up till about 60 foot out but it still ran a 12.5 at 109 mph. Plenty of traction with the current 325/50/20 but it just wanted to wheel hop bad thats why I'm going to coilovers.
