Strange noise coming from driver side muffler

Only the driver side, it sounds like it has a frog in it's neck and it makes a small chirp noise, kind of a blurp blurp. My Mechanic friend says it's the Muffler and the Muffler shop says it's a miss in the Engine making it sound that way. What do you guys think?

Talking

I hope I understand your problem the right way...
I sounds just like the problem I had two weeks ago.
When I was driving slowly it was hardly noticable, but putting
the pedal down, it misfired like crazy. I waited until it was dark,
started the engine and opened the hood... It was like lightning
between two or three wires
So I changed the wires and that solved my problem.

Hope this helps....

Cya,
Edmond

Wait till it's cool and feel around on the top and look at the bottom for any cracks. Mine sounded really wierd for a while. It had a crack which created a flap that buzzed at certain times. Finally the metal fatigued and fell off. No more buzzing noise, but it is a little louder now, with a 3" hole in the bottom of the muffler...

Angry

That's just FLOWMASTER'S FOR YA!! Sorry JMO, I had them and was so unhappy, cut them off and threw them in the trash. They were only on like a month or so. I bought MAGNAFLOWS. Nuff said, best muffler I have ever bought. Nice deep rumble, and no frog noises or pinginig noises.

Cool

Dion, the sound is for me hard to explain in english, but it was a bit like 'blup blup' also.
But when I accelerated faster it sometimes fired in the exhaust... making a very loud 'bang'
I noticed also loss of power on the highway...
I had new exhaust and it sounded even harder, but that's normal, the old exhaust had more hole's in it than a Swiss cheese.
I hope this helps... Sorry in advance if my explanation isn't really clear.

Cya,
Edmond

I had the same broblem and it turned out to be the baffel in the muffler was comming loose. You could try banging on the muffler but it might not rattle. After I took it off you could shake it and here it rattle.
