Re: Guess its a start
I gonna replace the front end stuff thats in there now with 85 truck stuff....possibly 2" spindles, notch the rear....not sure on rear springs or bags. 5.3/700r4..lots of new sheetmetal...most likely Coy's C5 20's.

Re: Guess its a start
Was the rear suspension swap easy?I noticed you still had the 4wd version rad. mounts with the built in spring hangers, are you going to leave them or swap out to a 2wd style?

Re: Guess its a start
Why is the windshield frame red now and it was gray? Did you graft in a new one?

Dang, I didn't know you were converting your existing K5 to 2wd. Looking good but I must say your K5 was one of my favorites. I'll be digging your finished product too I'm sure.

Re: Guess its a start
Keeping an eye on this one. If it comes out anywhere as nice as Mike's truck, it's going to be awesome. Joe, you better lock up those new Coy's you just purchased!

Re: Guess its a start
You can just trim the lower part of the rad supports off. Same difference, less work. What are you doing for upper spring mounts out back?

Re: Guess its a start
Havent got the rear springs figured out yet....when I took the last pics the rear axle was sitting on the 4x bump stops.....as of now its sitting on the frame and I still need to move the trailing arm crossmember back a little. Will either do coilovers or air bags in the rear. Havent decided yet...still need to notch the frame...Gringoloco did you use store bought notches or make your own?
I think I have a set of belltech 2 or 2 1/2 drop spindles lined up for the front.
