so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
i got my new radiator in today (thanx to 67 cst swb) after work and flush system and filled her up with new coolant and some Purple Ice* to keep any corrosion from forming, the radiator was great it even had an angled neck for the lower rad hose to pull it from the inner fender

Re: so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
I made an appointment a couple weeks ago for 8 am this morning to take my chassis in and get it stripped down to nothing so I can get it sand blasted and painted. I don't have all the tools for tearing apart the front end or taking off the trailing arms etc.
I went to pick up my trailer nice and early this morning so I could load up the chassis, and a fella that boards his horses at the In-laws farm parked his truck right in front of the barn door where I keep my truck and trailer stashed. No keys and no way to move it except to drag it out of the way with one of the tractors...thought about that, but figured I would bust something doing it. Now I have to change my blasting and painting appointments and my reassembly time. Course thats the way this build has been going since I started it. I should be calling it PROJECT SETBACK, LOL I did end up going to the swap meet. Saw a couple of board members. Didn't buy anything. Last edited by CG; 05-19-2007 at 06:16 PM. |

Re: so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
Went to the nastalgic drags in manhattan and worked on a buddies altered dragster. Broke the fuel pump during T&T night last night and found parts of it in the carb today and lost fuel pressure 120 ft into run. I was also trying to score a 3000 stahl for my truck and new tranny.

Re: so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
I almost pushed a car out of my way with a fire truck. It was parked in front of the bay door and we had a fire call. Wish I would have now. That would have made a better story.

Re: so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
Built a new chassis for the 67 Crewcab, . Front half came from a LWB and the rear half came from a SWB. Added 33" in between the cab mounts.

Re: so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
Had an extra day off on thursday so I started tearing apart the new project, cab should be stripped down and ready to come off before the weekend is out. I do have to take a break though to do the brakes on my g/f's POS Taurus if the rain ever stops.

Re: so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
Got the front clip and bed off my C-20, thanks to from a couple of strong backs and a 30 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon. The cab is loose and ready to come off, Ill probably do the rockers and cab corners first. Hopefully next weekend I'll yank the motor and tranny.

Re: so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
I got my front bumper bolted up, put on new shocks and sway bar bushings, and put a new turn signal switch in. Also went to buy a NEW chrome rear bumper and NEW bumper brackets for $100.00 for both. The guy was so nice he gave me some freebies. I left there with a heater box, a heater core housing with blower motor, new deluxe sidemarker lenses and new tail light lenses. Also got both vent wing windows and some other miscellanious stuff.

Re: so what have you guys accomplished this weekend
changed the oil/air filter in the wife's car..
Pulled the drums off the front of my 69lwb for inspection and found the cause of a grinding noise, broken spring. Looks like its time for a couple of new drums. pulled the steering wheel and tried to figure out how to get the turn signals working, switch LOOKS good and seems to function (horn also works) but still no blink-blink.. will do more as the week continues on that part..
