Panhard Bar Mount!

Can anyone tell me if they know where I can get a bracket for the panhard bar on a 70ish c-10 or gmc? I am converting from leaf springs and need the bracket.

I was also thinking on having a machine shop fabricate one. Has anyone done this before?

Re: Panhard Bar Mount!

I think the hard to impossible part is going to be that you are not going to have the hole in the rearend unless you are also switching rearends too.

It, otherwise, would be easy to fab a mount off the frame.

Re: Panhard Bar Mount!

basically all it is is a couple of pieces of metal with holes drilled in it for the bolt to go thru and you weld them in place

Re: Panhard Bar Mount!

Search Suicide Doors web site for an aftermarket 'weld-on' panhard bar kit. Early Classic Enterprises & Classic Perf Parts both offer panhard bar kits that you could prob adapt pretty easily.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Panhard Bar Mount!

Valentini - if you were to install the super track bar from ECE which mounts to the passenger side Ubolt area, all you would have to fab is the driver side frame mount. You didn't say if you were lowering your ride or not but this would allow you to do that in the future without having to redo this area.

I suppose I could have been a little more specific. The ECE & CPP set-ups would work if your rear-end doesn't have the original 'spud' protruding from the 3rd member. All you would need is a bolt-in (or weld on) drivers side mount.

I know ART (AirRide) makes a decent bolt-in panhard bar mount that would work w/either of these kits.

FWIW. . ..... As much as I like ECE.... the CPP "Delux' panhard-bar set-up, their latest version, works better w/trucks that are really low & use the bolt-in style c-notch.

Re: Panhard Bar Mount!

I checked out the website you recommended, however I was hoping to find an original mount. If I had to I would rather have one fabricated, i wanted it to look more original. Thanks for the info though. I may be able to find something else on this website.

Thanks to everyone for all the input...

Doesn't make you a dumba**. It just means you did what worked for you. I re-used my original because functionally it was fine.

Re: Panhard Bar Mount!

If you want an original panhard bar mount, call Bill at vintage chevy trucks, 510-651-5874, vintagechevytrucks.com . He torches the back side of the rivets, knocks them off, and sales them! Sorry, i don't know how much he charges. -Jake

Re: Panhard Bar Mount!

Valentini and Noahdallas,

Check with board member "Uncle". He lives in Georgia. That's who I got mine from. I needed one because I did a conversion from leafs to trailing arms. If I remember, it was $20 or $25 including shipping to South Fla.
