Why won't my alternator work?

i have tried 3 alternators and none have worked. I then tried a one wired alternator, still won't work. Am i missing somethin?

Are you getting voltage to the field terminal?

Sounds like it






Get out the test light or volt meter and check the red wire which is battery. Then check the brown wire which should have voltage when you turn the key on. Start with that.

Your missing the G on the end of something.LOL Sounds like wiring. [VOLTAGE REGULATER MAYBE]

power is coming into the alternator but its not generating any and storing it

First off help us out, lets start by a little more than one sentence. How do you know its not generating? Internal or external regulator? Wiring changes? Give us a little more to go on.

just go to advance auto and get a rebuilt alternator $16.95 and a new voltage regulator $9.95 and it should work perfect ? I buy a new alternator for my camaro about every six year's or so (JUST TAKE IT AND TRADE IT IN) the warranty on them is forever ,

what kind of testing have you done? how do you know it isn't charging? have you replaced the regulator? you sure it isn't just a bum battery?

if you have a DVOM when you start the trucke set you meter to test dc voltage an test voltage at you b att terminals if your meter reads 13.5 -14.7 your alternator is charging, but more info could help get a quik solution
