longbed to a shortbed?
I just shortened a longbed to a shortbed and my question is will I have to move the bed mounts or will the short bed fit without moving them? I know I have to take the front mount off.

Re: longbed to a shortbed?
I am pretty sure all you do is remove the front bed mount and you have to move the rear cab mount. I am in the process of doing the same as you and I haven't tried putting the box or cab on yet......still working on the suspension

Re: longbed to a shortbed?
search the faq, or go to earlyclassic.com and look in tech. The front bed mounts gets tossed and the rear cab mount moves back 12". 12" out from under the cab area and 8" off the back of the frame.

Re: longbed to a shortbed?
Thanks, That's the place I went to get the metal to box the frame. Really easy! I haven't cut the back of the frame off yet as I wanted to make sure The box fits.

Re: longbed to a shortbed?
I used this site and info to shorten the frame.
http://www.earlyclassic.com/tech.asp...20No!-Shortbed That's done just like the article states really easy. My question is aside from loosing the front bed mount do you have to move the other bed mounts abit to have the short bed fit or will it fit correctly. |

Re: longbed to a shortbed?
looks like you should be good to go. when i first read this i though you were saying you shortened your box. remove front mounts and bolt your short box on. hope it works out well for you!
