Will this work???

I may have found a deal on some tubular lower control arms and a 73-87 crossmember that a guy bought with a project truck and he isn't going to use any of it. The crossmember has been cut and set up for a rack and the tubular lower arms are new with balljoints and are for a 87 down. Will my spindles work with this? I would buy some tubular uppers also to match the lowers, so would I buy for 72 or 87 down?

Re: Will this work???

Spindles will interchange if the correct year ball joints are used (73-87 spindles need 73-87 BJ's; 71-72 spindles need 71-72 stuff etc...).

Again.... same for the upper tubular arm question. Just get the right BJ for your spindle & it will bolt in to a later style a-arm.

I used 73-up disc brake spindles on my 68 lower a-arms using the later BJ.s. I used the 68 upper a-arms w/the later BJ's. I connected the steering arms to the tie-rods w/a 72 center-link on one truck & on my other one I just went ahead & used all 73-up steering gear cause the 73-up center-link was easier to find @ a wrecking yard.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Will this work???

Without knowing if a 'qualified' person did the welding..... it's hard to say. It does look kind of rusty & that would be a concern for me.

What parts complete this 'kit'? What R&P does it use?

With it being cut that way, you will have to fab engine mounts.

Scoti, that was my thought also. He said it was setup for mustangII r&p.

Gringo, that is what I figured since it is cut that way, I guess I could buy some of them universal mounts for a ls1 and cut them down.

He wants $225 for the cross and $175 for the tubular lowers.

Those are Bill Turners Arms... they look a little different then mine though. If you want more pics of those crossmembers and control arms do a search in the suspension forum for Crossmember drop....It is probably the longest thread of all time!!!
