Re: Looking What I Found To Day
Well Dan it's really hard to tell not seeing it in person.
Looks like a pretty nice truck though. I would go over the body real good with a magnet to see if there is any hidden stuff I.E, bodo and such. Not sure either what the front end difference (air) what ever he was talking about. Other than that I would venture a guess at around 800 to a 1000 who knows I may be way off. I am more into the engine and drivetrain end of things. Still learning everyday more on the truck end of it. Hope it helps RJ22... |

Re: Looking What I Found To Day
If it's 4WD then maybe $1200 but... 2WD maybe $800 max?

Re: Looking What I Found To Day
Looks identical to my 67, nothing appears different in the front, maybe, as 1969k10stepside mentioned, he meant factory air. Does look like a good project, and I wouldn't go much over $800 either, as long as the body is as good as it appears.

Re: Looking What I Found To Day
Things I see that knock the asking price out of the balllpark:
1- Very, very rusty cab. Looks like it is going to be sagging soon (if it hasn't already), creating BIG problems like getting the doors opened & closed, etc. Once they go to sagging, it is a real pain to get things pushed back into place, & then if you do succeed at that, you will have alot of work to do welding structure/ repair panels back in. 2- looks like it was originally a 4 spd. truck, converted to auto. That's ok, but check out the hack job of removing the crossmember with a sawsall! That tells me that the work he done & money he put into it elsewhere was probably poorly done too. 3- I bet the front air bags were put in to compensate for sagging junk coil springs. Expect the ball joints & other front end parts to be shot. I'd say if the front clip & box are pretty nice, & you are up to all the work that needs done, it might be worth $450. And it don't sound like he would consider it. If you can't get him to budge, leave him your name & number and walk away. Sooner or later, he's going to have to be realistic, or push it into the weeds. Best of luck to ya

Re: Looking What I Found To Day
the air assist in the front coils is NOT factory ... regardless of what the ol' coot says ... he's clueless ... I'd walk away.

Re: Looking What I Found To Day
Yeah it's not worth a whole lot... $500 max and expect a few thousand into it and a lot of work to make it look and drive good...

Re: Looking What I Found To Day
1200 is pretty steep for a truck without a motor/tranny. There was a 67 3/4 ton around here with a better body and a 283/4spd that the guy wanted 1500
firm for. I thought it was little high but he ended up selling for he wanted for it, It just took a few months. I'd say $400 to $500 would be top dollar for that truck.
