Headman Elite install

I have a fresh 383 about to drop in my 67 K-20. The entire clip is off of the front. What is the best header instalation procedure? In place tied back and then engine in? Engine in and headers after through the top?? Through the bottom?? Starter on first ?? Starter after??
When I say installing engine, I plan on tranny, 465, and transfer 205 attatched.
I figured if someone has been there done that, I would sure like advice.
Thanks

Yes. I had a feeling that through the top , engine in, and starter off and it would work. Any other experiences out there???

Re: Headman Elite install

I bolted my t-case in the frame and then attached the tranny to the motor, installed them and bolted the t-case to the tranny.Installed the starter and then the headers...The t-case,tranny,and motor was a bit to much weight at one time...I could have put it all in at once but that much weight worried me...

1969K10
If I follow you, you had the transfer and the adapter housing, with the splined coupler in it, mounted to the crossmember.????? And of course the side mount in place to the passenger's side??
The starter was not in the way??? If not this is sure easier to install starter. Mine bolts to the bell housing old school chevy style, bolts run through flange on starter to the rear and into the bell. No shimming. I hate the new style mounting.
Thanks for the info.
