Another "whatcha think of my wheels" post!

I'm finally at the point where I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on my wheel choice. I've always been really fond of cast center vintage type wheels, but couldn't help but think they may cheapen the look of my "7 year frame off resto".

I photoshopped these on and I think they look pretty damn cool.....wheels will actually be 18x10's & 8's with 275/55 on rear and 255/50 on front. I also lowered it a tad more.

Though ultimately I'm gonna pick what I like....you can't help but wonder what others opinions are.....so watcha think?

If I don't go this route, I'm thinkin some 24" spinners would look just right!!!

PS....don't tell Pete (Shock_Me) that I stole the wheels off his brother's light green stepper!! (see below)

Those rims BELONG on your truck

Also, thanks for the vintage air core support help. Turns out there was a "divet" there, but I never would have found it without the measurements Got the hole drilled and the lines/grommet in

Re: Another "whatcha think of my wheels" post!

For a long time I had been looking to buy TTIIs, but by the time I had saved the money I realized how so many of our trucks already had these. That is the only reason I did not get me a set. So I set out to find another wheel with a classic look and bought Bonspeed Huntingtons. Too expensive but I figured "what the hell." And I don't regret it one bit.

Re: Another "whatcha think of my wheels" post!

Torque thrusts are like the rally rims, overdone, but never out of style

That's why I like 'em both so much.

They're not called 'a timeless classic' for nothin'. They're popular but that combo in your pic looks good.

They look good on your truck, unfortunatley they look good on alot of other 67-72 trucks. I say pick something different so your 7 year resto doesn't look like all of the others.

Re: Another "whatcha think of my wheels" post!

TT's are classic beauty. When did these first come out? I'm thinking early 60's for the originals. I couldn't afford the real thing in 67 and wound up with ET's for my 64 Plymouth Sport Fury.

Re: Another "whatcha think of my wheels" post!

Alot of you say that they are very common and I definately agree......for the polished ones. I personally think the cast center wheels look dramatically different and are by a long shot, far less common. I like them for that reason (less common) and that they have such a "down to business" look about them.

If money had no bearing on my decision (how I wish that were the case!) I'd probably pick a billet "vintage look" wheel and have the center powder coated (cast look).....but with the wheels and sizes I like and the cost of powdercoating, I just can't justify spending around $700 a fricken wheel.

I just think that the cast center TT2's are different enough to not look so common.

Thanks for your comments all!

Re: Another "whatcha think of my wheels" post!

I love the cast centered wheel over the polished. I think I may go one step further and get the Crager SS in an 18-20 (They started making them a few years ago) I like the old school look. I like ralleys too, but 15" tires are just too small to fill the wheelwell unless you get a lot of sidewall, then you lose stability. An 18 or 20 fills it up and you can still turn without side wall flex!!

Re: Another "whatcha think of my wheels" post!

revn67 - I almost bought the Coys and the price was killer!!.....but I just didn't like the backspacing for the rear.....The shallowest BS for an 18x9.5 was 5. I would have to use an 1/2" spacer to get the wheel where I wanted it and you lose some of the depth of the wheel.
