Re: 36s

use a concretius to bumper spreader..... (jack) - and put the wheels in the box.... couldn't help it.

You gotta put out a little more info on your vehicle with a question like that... coil rear end... etc...etc.... the more detail you give, the better a response you'll get back. Also try doing some searches for "lift" or "lifted".... good luck.

Re: 36s

You're not going to find a "cheap" way to fit 36" tires, unless you are okay with getting out the sawzall and opening up your wheel wells. You will need a 6" lift along with steering correction and extended brake lines. Also will probably need to have your front driveshaft extended.

What is your planned use for this truck with 36" tires. Will help determine how long your 1/2 ton axles will survive.

Re: 36s

Not sure but might also mean readjusting the driveline/pinion angle too... no? With the 6" lift....

Re: 36s

You need to lift it.Got a place to stash them until you can get one? That`s what I do.Springs/raised steering arm up front and blocks/u-bolts on back. You need 6",so you`ll need to drop the hose brackets and e-brake cable brackets. That`s as cheap as it gets.Don`t even consider a body lift.I never would, personally. But,in your case you can`t go 6" with body lifting and there`s no savings in a combo,body/suspension lift(nor a benefit).

Now you have a starting place for resources. There are lots of ways to do this.Just remember everything rides on your suspension. This includes your life and that of the passengers.

Re: 36s

4WPW has a line that is cheap, like about $400+/-,I think. That or Rough Country. The trend is toward trying to get the lift without the stiff. These cheaper kits won`t do that, but that never bothered me,personally.Never felt blocks gave too much wheel-hop,either.I don`t get into trying to lay rubber with big lug tires anyway. It`s a good way to break something and I don`t spend money modifying my truck so I can break it.

Re: 36s

thanks for the info..see here's the problem i'm having...no one seems to make a 6" suspension lift for the 67-72 Chevy LWB 4x4 pickup truck...they make 4" lifts...they make 12" lifts for other kinds...but they don't make any gosh darn 6" lifts for my truck...
