I know this isn't a "body and paint" post but I don't visit any other forum on this site so I thought I would post it here.

Yep, things are different here in sunny California. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the life out in South and Mid west where you wouldn't find stuff like this. But the cars, they are totally different here. This truck is all original, paint, int, 47,000 original miles. It is a 1967 and has for as long as I remember been parked on a street in neighborhood. The guy put it up for sale a number of months ago and I guess it didn't sell. This morning I see it out on another street (still a very little traffic street, what the hell is he thinking?). It says it has new tires, clutch, rad. It has almost zero rust, what you see is NOT coming out from the inside, it is surface rust. I see no rust thru what so ever on it. Look at the rocker, you can see each spot weld in the original paint! I am soooooooo temped to buy this thing and drive it everyday. But I still haven't forgotten the wonderful feeling I had when I first bought the SHO I am driving with a/c and all the power goodies after driving a 65 Skylark without them for years.

Summers coming and that a/c would be sorely missed.

Anyway, the asking price for this super solid little truck.....$2000 or best offer! And please don't delete this thread, I am NOT selling this truck.

and over here longbeds with large rust holes in the roof floors rockers and beds they tell you how solid they are for $4800

Wow, that's impressive!! The 53 that I'm doing right now is almost that solid, just a little cancer, because it came from somewhere out there. Anything found around here would be rotted up to the doorhandles by now.

I agree......vehicles just tend to fair pretty well in this climate. I grew up in Iowa and have been In Nothern California for +20 years and the very first thing I noticed when I moved here was the lack or minimal amount of corrosion in older vehicles. You could actually find a 20 or 30 year old vehicle and not have to put quarters in it!
