Is this bed for a 67-72 C10?
A friend of mine has this bed but he's not sure what year it's from and he's not close enough to try it out. I'd have to drive about 250 miles to get it. Wanted to know if anybody can tell if this will be compatible with a 71 C10.

It'll work on a SWB 71 with or without marker lights. Does anyone know if there were any without lights in 71?

those holes (for reflectors, then lights) were required starting in 68.
So that is a 68 - 72 short step side bed. Go for it, it looks nice too. |

Are we positive this sucker will fit? Has anyone seen that tire wheel on the fender before on a 68-72 c10?

Yeah we're sure, the spare tire mount is more common than not.

What is different with this bed from the 73-87? Or will they all fit?

Here is a pic of one with the spare installed. I think this truck belongs to a member here...

Re: Is this bed for a 67-72 C10?
There's a lot of differences, the fenders mount further forward on the newer beds, the stake pockets are different, the steps are waaaay different. The tailgate and front piece are about the only common spots.

If you don't want that spare mounted fender you could probably get rid of it here and find one with out the spare cutout. Looks like a nice find.

Re: Is this bed for a 67-72 C10?
welcome to the board
I have a regular fender you can use to replace it. I'm just west of you but I spend most of my time in Miami. I also have some other bed parts as well. P.S. I just looked at the post you have with a pic of your truck. That bed WONT fit. You have a long bed truck. You would have to find long bed sides or shorten your frame to make it fit (very hard work). I would just keep the bed you have or find another long fleet bed if it needs replacing.
