New Guy
Hello all , I am new here and just wanted to say hello. I am completely addicted to the 67-72 chevy truck, as are all of you I'm sure. Does anyone else constantly think about these trucks as I do? I would easily trade my fiance for a good parts truck! Anyway I own a 68 K20 with a 327 and 4 speed, and enough rust to choke a horse. I also just purchased a 69 K20 with a much better body. I guess the 68 will become the parts truck. Look forward to meeting you all and sharing info, Thanks!!!!! Oh yeah the pic is the 69.

Re: New Guy
Thanks all, I was planning on using th 68 for parts. It has really low original miles, just about 23,000. I grew up a couple of miles from this truck and it has sat in the back corner of a field since 1991. I got this truck after doing some work for the owner and he told me he bought it from a auto repair shop in NJ. He said when he bought it in the early 80's it had about 13,000 miles. He proceded to use the truck to plow his short driveway, and parked it when he became too old to use it(it has manual steering and takes a lot of strength to drive it.) It has a 327 and I was thinking of using it in the 69 I bought. The 69 has a 292-6cyl. However, I am having a hard time stripping the 68 as it is still restorable. The frame is good and drivetrain is solid, but body is bad. Should I find another parts truck and save this for a future project? What do you think?

Re: New Guy
That's too complete to strip for parts. WELCOME from Tennessee.
Don't trade your fiance, you'll need the moral support.

Re: New Guy
I found a couple more pics of her rustier side. I've owned this for about three years. I havent really done anything until this current summer. I have pulled the valve covers off and found some questionable valves, possibly stuck? The motor ran like crap and that could be why. I had planned on fixing this truck, but found the 69 on ebay and had to have it. I would really like to fix the 68, it's a pretty cool old truck with low miles, I guess I'll look for another parts truck and put this away for a later project. Oh yeah last pic is fiance, now listening to all resonable offers!!! LOL!!!! Just kidding of course. (She would kill me if she read this!)

Re: New Guy
Youve got lead stuck to your valves. Some carb cleaner i beleive will free them up, you dont need to do anytihng past that, its because the lead buildup on the valves caused it to seal from sitting for so long, but a ltitle cleaner and BAM it will run like new again.

Looks like they are all keepers to me. I dig your 69 - course my 69 is darn near a twin except mine was yellow when I bought it.
