Do I need this?

The manual trans crossmember, I am converting to a 700r4, do I need this crossmember for anything? Will it get in the way? I looks like the exhaust would run smack into it. Do I just need to get out the torch and cut off the rivits and trash it? Thanks.

you'll need a crossmember for the tail of the 700 r4 , mght want to see if you can move the one you have but probably have to do somthing creative
