I am putting a 72 front under my 68,Any problems?

Hey, I like the fronts of the 72-72's do what you want man, it's your truck! Speaking of trucks, what's in store for the 26 buick? Are you gonna make a Hot Rod out of it? Restore it maybe? I love those old trucks, I'm helping my Mother in Law sell her Dad's old 1928 chevy truck that is really cool, it was stored in a barn for the last 40 years, it's in the trucks for sale area here.

If you mean disc brakes suspension from a 72 onto your 68, then no, you are doing a good thing.. Do a search for disc brake swap on this site to see many threads on this...

My Buick is a Coupe,I really don't have any plans for it right now.Yes i am switching for Disc Brakes and Power Steering. looks like a straight swap to me!

I've got a 67, and thinking of doing the same thing, i've got a 72 parts truck, but the rear end is bad in that.. so what is the step for the 5 lug in the rear? can i just get new axles?

If you're referring to the disk brake swap, I much prefer the '73 and up f/e for the rubber bushings in the control arms. I feel that it gives a smoother ride. More importantly, if you aren't careful with the '71-'72, you can easily damage the threads on the bushings causing you to buy them a second time- they strip out easily.

I did this, I put 71 disk brakes on my 68, you must swap the tie rod ends both inner and outer due to the fact that the 71-72's are longer. Another thing is 71-72 has the spot for the brake hose on the front and the 68 is on the back. I found a shorter hose for a 96 caprice and kept my stock hose mount. The caprice hose uses a bubble flare and the banjo bolt was smaller. To fix that I drilled it to the right size and got a pre flared line and cut it in the middle and added a double flare to go to my tee. Other than that, I used 71 ball joints and bolted everything right up. Make sure you use the 72's master cylinder and valve.

And another thing at least with my orignal 12 bolt the axles are a diffrent length between 5 lug and 6 lug. Due to my truck having rear leafs I got a 78 12 bolt and bolted it right in other than having to filp one shock mount. I then used chevy van rear drum brakes, which are wider than the truck drums, this is a bolt on affair as long as you switch the backing plate and all of the hardware.
