How do you take apart a hood?
i am attempting to build a cowl hood from two hoods, bought a metal nibbler and started grinding, but it would be easier to take the outer (top) hood skin off from the supports and back brace and front brace thing, do i jsut grind the welds? is tehre a quicker way?

i cut the hood up and got the piece that i need to make the cowl, now all i need is to remt a sheetmetal brake. how woul i put the gradual bend in it from fromt to back? you know how a cowlis flush with hood at front and open at the back, how do i get that slope? some kind or roller thing maybe?

Personally I would recommend buying a new piece of metal for this. Metal has grains like wood, and when you bend with the grain you are liable to crack it. Especially metal that was molded 30 years ago.
If you do it, put a piece of scrap metal on top of all you bends to make the bend radius bigger and lower the chance of cracks. Mario
