Punk Kids
Well I had my blazer parked out front and I walked outside this morning to find that my back window had been shot out with a BB gun. It is all cracked up and held together now by the old window tint. I need to find a good replacement before the monsoon rain hits the AZ desert. Anybody know where I can get a replacement from besides searching local junk yards? Or will I have to have one custom made at a glass shop? What kind of costs am I looking at? Should I have the notorious crack in the window from fixed first while the glass is out?
On a side note I was able to locate top caps for my doors at Mothertruckers.net, brothers also has them if anyone like me was still looking for them (I don't want to step on any board vendor's toes, so please chime in if you have them). Thanks all - this is a great web page! |

Re: Punk Kids
If You Cant Find One You Can Go To A Glass Shop And They Can Cut One Out For You. Since It Is Flat It Will Not Cost Very Much. I Have Done This A Few Times For Dune Buggie Windshilds

Re: Punk Kids
I would take the blazer to a glass shop and have them custom cut some glass for me. I think it would be easier if I had an outline of someone's intact and uninstalled back glass on some butcher paper or the white side of some wrapping paper.
I'm not ready to have the glass installed yet anyways since I need to get the fiberglass hatch repaired. |

Re: Punk Kids
I'd go with plexiglass or lexan... any good boat shop can do it, and you can too if you can find a sheet thick enough

As far as lexan it is GE trade name, you can also get Sheffield plastic Makrolon They both can be ordered Abrasion Resistant. You still have to be careful but the coating is pretty tough .
