Blazer Top Cage Nuts

I would really appreciate some help with the following for my wife's 72 Blazer:

1. Does anyone reproduce the cage nuts spot welded under the bed rail for the attachment of the single-wall top?

2. If not, does anyone have the dimensions of these so I can make them?

Thank you very much.

Re: Blazer Top Cage Nuts

Welcome to the board from Seattle.

1. No reproductions are being made as far as I know.

2. You must be a paid subscriber to post "wanted to buy" threads. I'm sure that that line will be removed from your post shortly.

3. They are 1/2 inch bolts that go into the threaded bolt holes. The bold holes are threaded into stock that can slide back and forth to properly align the top. I'm sure you could just use nuts on the underside of the bed rail if you can't find any. If not, you could probably get some from a rusty blazer being parted. (Again, you'll need to be a paid subscriber post "wanted to buy")

4. Nice single wall tops can be hard to find. There have been a few for sale in the past, but shipping usually kills deals. The CA & AZ blazer guys/gals are the most common to ditch their tops in favor of running a soft top year round. CK5.com, pirate4x4.com, ebay & craigslist aare also good sources.

Post some pics of your wifes rig when you get a chance.

I am going to make my own. Just have to get some flat bar, I'm going to use 2" X 1/2 and cut to size, then drill and tap to 5/16 corse thread.

I had to make one or maybe it was two and I just used flat bar and tapped it also. Works as good as the originals.
