Where to look for # on 454 heads?
Can anyone point me in the right direction here are some that I found anyone know what they mean???

Commonly referred to as "781s", they're really decent as a set of street heads. "049s" are comparable heads. They've got the larger valve sizes which helps airflow.
Chevy High Performance did a BBC Head "bake-off" of sorts a few years ago where they rated airflow and gave head stats for a variety of heads. 781s were included. It may still be on their website. While not the best for racing, you can do a lot with these heads. Just be sure you have them checked out for defects, cracks etc, before going too far with them. Also, you'll want "open chambered" pistons to match so you can optimize the compression ratio.

Thanks agian guys I have the heads and motor out of a suburban I had got the block # and just wanted the head # as I need a new intake..
