Building Control Arms
Anyone ever built their own? I just looked at the Air ride tech ones and am still in awe of how much they are. Any pointers or input is greatly appreciated!

Anyway, I've built some tubular arms before for a customer. What I did was build a jig using the OG arm, then built the new ones from tubing using the jig. These were for a lowrider, where the upper a-arms needed to be extended. It was a two-piece jib to where I could spread the base to achieve the length I wanted. I think I used 1/2 stock for the bushing side, cut a hole and press the bushings in. The ball joint was the bolt in style, so I just used 1/4 plate for that, then jig it all in with the tubing. John

Re: Building Control Arms
I know what yout mean...you need exactly dimensions....
What you need is some DOM tubing. Or you can take like a piece of 3/8, 1/2" by 2" flat...bore a hole, press the bushing into take. Then insert the flat into the notched tubing of the a-arm. KInda hard to explain. John

Re: Building Control Arms
Gotcha, I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and order some DOM. I'm willing to skimp on some things here and there, but suspesion, brakes, and steering a would not ever fall into that catagory! I think if I make one set, I will make a jig so the next set are easy!
