Carlisle dissappointment

Went to the truck nats. at Carlisle yesterday. Don't know if it was because of the heat, or being Friday, but hardly any trucks there and half of the vendors either. I talked to a few people and they were saying that they thought that over the last few years, it's been going down hill. Hope not. Again, could've been because of the heat or Being Friday. I didn't even take any pictures.....

I did pick up a few things. Stainless wiper arms and a GMC upper grill guard from The Truck Shop for $100.00 and also a set of window felts from GMC Paul. I was hoping the Paul had one of those new AC/Heat units with him, but he didn't. But we did talk about them and says there great units. I might be getting one after I finish my 383 install.

Man, it was HOT there. Supposed to be even hotter today 100 degrees +

Re: Carlisle dissappointment

The heat was HORRIBLE!!! Apparently Tj and I are spoiled working in an air conditioned office most days. We spent enough on $2.50 bottles of water to buy a new 700R4

The other issue was that someone needs to call the state of Pennsylvania and tell them there's a Cup race there this weekend because EVERY east/west road in the state is under construction (80 and 78) and we spent at least an hour PARKED on the highway...I can't wait to see what people endure Sunday morning.

The internet is killing all good swap meets and events. Why go fight the heat and mosquitoes if you can sit at home and do everything you need right from your laptop.

Re: Carlisle dissappointment

The GM Nationals wasn't all that great either.

Usually things at Carlisle are over-priced... unless you are buying from a vendor.

Man. I guess I got lucky today. I got bedsides, the front piece of the bed, a door skin, rockers, fender, a hood, cab mounts, cab corners, and tailights today. I thought there was a pretty good amount of trucks too.

Re: Carlisle dissappointment

I was there friday and saturday. I walked for seven hours friday and five today and then drove 400 miles home. I met Special K and bought a bunch of stuff off of GMC Paul, a great and knowledgeable guy to deal with. I just wish he was closer to me. I still need about $1000 worth of parts and already bought about $1300 worth on Friday.

I didn't find any of the used parts I was hoping to find and nobody on the boards seems to have what I need

Here is a pic of one of my favorites. I have a bunch more pictures and will post them soon.
