Re: Saved from the crusher
Tim- that guy had a relatively decent cab that he had MARKED DOWN to 1,700.00 from 2,200.00 (the yellow/white one in pic 3)

Re: Saved from the crusher
Yeah,I saw and thought,WTF?But,then it is complete with good doors and not stripped to just the sheetmetal. It sold and it was prolly more like $1,500.There`s a guy in the spring that brings stuff east and gets $1,500 for gutted cabs that aren`t always dent free.
I bought a pair of short Fleetsides for $500.The one was stripped to bare throughout and didn`t have a speck of rust(1st pic). The other was untouched original paint and no rust(med.olive/white bottom one in the 2nd pic.I got both wheel houses, too, from the same bed. He`s a Ford guy and we were talking about if the new cabs were made, what they would cost. Now,this is your area of expertise. What would you gander? There are cabs made for the`50s Effies and they`re about $6Gs,right?Whatcha think? Will the day come?

Re: Saved from the crusher
seems like the cab could be done for about 4K IF all the components were also sold once the tools were developed- that's the ONLY way you'd ever sell enough to ammortize that many unique toolings. You also would almost have to build them to order with two different firewalls, different humps, different dashes, etc. When Dynacorn came out with the early model a lot of people started asking about the '67-'72; but there's a lot involved in making a decision to pursue it; for people in some parts of the country just the shipping cost is greater than a used cab locally.
