Reproduction GMC grills

I am doing another project and am torn between hammering out the dings and filling PO drill holes in a pretty decent 71 GMC OEM grill (then having it re-chromed), or to just invest in a reproduction grill from one of the board vendors, LMC, etc. Anyone have feedback on what their experiences have been with repo-grills? Do they fit as stock? how about the eyebrow moldings and top grill bar??? Thanks

JC

Re: Reproduction GMC grills

Hello JCFoote,
I didnt respond when you first posted since my setup is an original 70 grill and fender eyebrows. It also is not assembled.
I did do a lot of measurements after I recieved the top bar I ordered, and test fitted the eyebrows to it. everything seems it will fit well.

This top bar came from Mike's Bump and Grind Garage, a site vendor, at a very fair price.

Later---DAC

Re: Reproduction GMC grills

I order a reprduction grill and bumpers for my jimmy all the grill pieces looked nice but nathing fit right so I sent it all back and got mine rechromed. I should have sent the back bumper back too the chrome is bad on it.

Re: Reproduction GMC grills

I need the clips that hold the eyebrows on for my 71 GMC. I can't find these being reproduced anywhere, and all but one of mine were either rusted to pieces or broken...
