Just ordered a 1406 - ? about idle solenoid

Well I decided to get a new edelbrock 1406 with electric choke after rebuilding the qjet and still having issues.

Question: What about the existing idle stop solenoid? Can I just disregard? My truck does not have a/c.

Any other install tips or pics would be appreciated!

Re: Just ordered a 1406 - ? about idle solenoid

If my memory serves me correctly, the idle solenoid could also be used as an anti dieseling solenoid, use power with key on to sol. and set idle speed with sol. and when key off, the power will go away from sol. causing the sol. to shut throttle shaft further thus eliminating dieseling issues, I dont suspect you have that problem however that could be useful. and yes it can easily be removed and not necessary.
