Overdrive cable on a 67-72 Chevy truck??

I know this is a long shot question...but does anyone have a pic of an overdrive cable, the one that mounts under the dash/in the dash. You know, the one that engages & disengages the overdrive unit?

A longer shot question...Does anyone have an overdrive cable for one of these trucks???

I don't think any of these trucks had overdrive. I could be wrong, as I have been wrong before.

Re: Overdrive cable on a 67-72 Chevy truck??

Several years ago a friend of mine had a '67 with a 3 spd. overdrive unit. From what I am finding out, they were available, but very rare.

I've seen one but don't think I have a pic of it. If I remember right, it mounted under the dash sorta below the ignition switch.

Re: Overdrive cable on a 67-72 Chevy truck??

I had a 67 with the factory over drive. It looked like a park brake release handle mounted under the key switch area of the dash. When pushed in it was in over drive, when pulled out it was in regular 3 speed.
I hate that truck burnt to the ground it was a factory A/C truck to.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Overdrive cable on a 67-72 Chevy truck??

I believe in the trucks, 1967 was the only year it was offered. For some reason GM pulled it after that?

Re: Overdrive cable on a 67-72 Chevy truck??

I used the tranny and underdash cable from a 68 elcamino Gm used the same set up in other models You might have more chances of finding one on a chevelle site or similar and they are rare.
