Differences in fenders?
Sorry, I know this has probably been talked about. Are there any differences between Chev and Gmc fenders? Any difference in the years? Also who sells the best bed skins? The truck I bought off ebay is a little rougher than I thought. Not much rust but passenger side fender and bed side gots lots of bondo. Thanks,
Albie |

Re: Differences in fenders?
67 no side marker light, 68 has side marker light both will fit with the 67, 68 hoood and grille, 69, 70, 71,72 same style fender. As for gmc and chev someone else will have to chime in.

That's a quick simple explanation that is right on point.

Re: Differences in fenders?
68 chev is also the same as yours...it just has the side marker light hole, which you may or may not like.
Well I see that it was already mentioned further up. Guess I should wear my glasses more often =) Last edited by CG; 08-24-2007 at 01:43 AM. |

Re: Differences in fenders?
whatever you do don't buy panels made by gorden! a ford fender will come as close to fitting and a beer can is thicker!!

Re: Differences in fenders?
I just checked out the Goodmark Industries website, and they have reasonable pricing on their fenders, $169.00, BUT still no 67-68 grilles!

Re: Differences in fenders?
Gorden is one of the 5 manufactures in Taiwan that stamp out parts for the restoration business. They just happen to stamp out the worce fitting fenders. You won't be seeing the 67-68 Grill anytime soon with Goodmark either. Word has it, that they no longer purchase from Tri-Plus. Tri-Plus is the brand we mostly cary and are one of the other of the 5 companies that I mentioned above. They just happen to be the company making the new 67-68 Grill and are the best of the 5 at least as far as the truck parts go. WES

Re: Differences in fenders?
Cool, thanks for all the info. So I can use a 68 also but will just have to fill in the side marker holes. I gonna get a fender off a junker but the bed panel I will order from someone. I will probably end up getting a grille some time too. Didn't Lmc use to carry the 67 grilles? Or is Lmc a place to stay away from as far as panels and stuff go?

Re: Differences in fenders?
Not to rub it in but 53sparks and I picked up a 68 for a $100 and I get the grille and hood I was looking for. The front grille on these just came out as far I I know.

Re: Differences in fenders?
If you have a GMC any year GMC fender will work (just have to fill in the sidemarker light) or 67-68 Chevy fender will work.
