door hinge area repair any tips or pointers

i got a door from a friend for my work truck and all looked great untill i went to prep it for paint. in the hinge bolt on area its cracked to death..... other wise door is nice. anybody done repairs on this area ? its cracked from where vent window goes all the way down to lower hinge area. i,am thinkin of makeing a inner support that goes from top to bottom inside door. combination bolting it and welding it back then run hinge bolts thru both pieces to sandwich them. this will spread stress out over a large area. lastly i,ll mig weld up the cracks and tie inner piece in with cracked outer parts. ANY THOUGHTS ?

OR..... IF ONE OF MY OTHER DOORS HAS A GOOD HINGE AREA THEN I CAN USE IT AS MY INNER PATCH !!!!!!!!! ALSO FOR A TEMPLATE TO USE FOR OTHER DOOR REPAIRS...... HUM......
