C20 Rotors...what else fits?

Hi There!

I have a 71 Chevy C20, with the 8 lug wheels. I was wondering if anyone knew what rotors will interchange with this truck, or are they specific to 71?

I wish I had a Hollander Book...

Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated!

I believe they are unique.Go to a parts place and they`ll look up the application.Tell them you`re not sure if they`re original or swapped-in`73-ups and compare the numbers.

According to NAPA, our trucks use the same rotor 71-87. The part # is UP85679.

Welcome to the board shawn.
Are you trying to install another kind of rotor on there... oh, say a 5 lug rotor... or are you trying to see if you have a set of rotors on hand already that'll work on your truck?

Re: C20 Rotors...what else fits?

Well, I am hoping to find new rotors that will fit...I would love to go 5 lug or even 6 lug to get a better tire, but I am pretty sure there aren't any rotors that will install onto the same spindles...And I hadn't planned on doing the whole front swap, at least not yet. I don't mind changing out the rear end, but the front makes me a little nervous.

Personally, the 4.56 gearing in this truck is horrible with the 3 speed, and does it eat the gas. When gas was 50 cents a gallon, it may not have been a issue...LOL.

To answer the actual question, my friend owns a junkyard, and he has a ton of 73-87 truck there, and I was hoping rotors from one of those would fit. Is there a way to shove 5 lug ones on there?

thanks!

Shawn

no 5 luggers that I am aware of... if you post the question in a seperate thread (for more attention) I *THINK* someone came up with a mid 90's 6 lug rotor that'll bolt on... but I'm not sure.
