Re: Project 69 GMC

I would like to restore more to OE specs.

according to the options sticker on the glove box door. (after spending 2 hrs. with thinner and a rag removing the paint) if found it was originaly red and white. I would like to get it a close to original as I can.

This is one of my son,Ben. I think he was taking off some trim around the headlights. This was his very first day with air tools. I do believe he likes it!
Makes a dad proud. (sniff)

Here is the inner wall of the bed just in front of the wheel well. This is actually the only rust through on the entire bed.

Re: Project 69 GMC

To get the bed off I made up a couple of 1 foot cubes from 4 x 4 stock. That and a bottle jack and some jack stands. (and a bunch of 4 x 4's cut to 1 foot lengths) and we finally got it off.

Re: Project 69 GMC

Doesn't look to be in too bad shape. Just the rust in the usual places.

Re: Project 69 GMC

Here's another looking down through the fuel neck hole. you can see the damage caused by a leaking fuel neck seal.
