coca-cola truck
this is very cool, saw it in a yard, i think im gonna buy the whole truck, its pretty bone, inline, think it was a 3 speed, but it had a vacumm guage where the tahc should have gone, i wonder if it was put in by the dealer for coke, it was very original looking.

Every once in a great while out here we stumble across a beauty. But being in Kentucky, we don't find any that actually have straight bodies. You southern, and West coast boys are so spoiled. I wish I could get my hands on a piece like that.

That is amazing how could it survived for so long, like that. It would be neat to restore it back like that and get some literatureand production numbers for that. Good luck on getting it.

It must have been done in the late 80's going by the Coke logo on the door. I don't think they used that logo before the "Coke" thing happened but I could be wrong. |

I was just saying even thogh its not originally from the factory, I can't believe that someone had not painted or parted it out. That could still be a cool marketing tool now repaint the same slam on some 20'scool. Then put it in the world of coke here in atlanta, anyone see how the hood color is done looks like some of the new two-tone trends you see here lately.

I think it would look cool fixed up too, just change the logo on the door. There is too much era clashing going on :p

That is hella cool and I don't even like coke! :p
I haven't seen any 67-72 Chevy trucks in the junkyards around here. Either they crush them to early or they are still running.... since they are Chevys, probably the later.

I was at the local yard yesterday and there were 19 different 67-72's. I'm such a regular customer they dont even charge me for a lot of stuff I walk up to the counter with any more.

The last two times I went to the bone yard I saw a total of 3 chevy trucks! Only 1 was a 67-72. They are getting scarce around here! That coke truck looked pretty nice to be in the junk yard .

I pulled this off a Coke 71 Longhorn. It was painted red and white but did not have a coke emblem.

Is that a "Coka Cola Fran" option I see on that Longhorn Build sheet? Pretty cool.
I'm not sure but I think they have used that "Coke" lettering for many years. It's amazing that a service truck would survive in such nice shape.

Don't suppose you took a picture of the rear, what did the tailgate look like? Plain or any writing/pattern. If I ever need a repaint I really quite like the idea of a replica....

It was probably a truck for Coke a Cola themselfs. They did do promo trucks and Vans. A freind of mine has one of the Coke a Cola/ Hot Rod Mag Promo vans. It was a give a way contest back in the 70's
