Power steering pump brackets

Can someone tell me if it takes two brackets for a small block 350 power steering pump(1970) and where can you find them. My truck, I noticed someone has made a homemade bracket. It works but I can't adjust it any. Not to mention it looks out of place now that I've noticed it. I called around my local area savage yards but no one has a parts truck. Any help would be appreciated ............

Re: Power steering pump brackets

Someone put a 400 sbc in my 70 K5. It's power steering pump has two brackets - one mounts to the front of the block using two bolts as shown here

and the other mounts to one of the motor mount bolts and then to the back of the pump

Re: Power steering pump brackets

As for finding the correct brackets, a wanted post in the classified section will get you the brackets but you need to be a subscriber to post there.

Re: Power steering pump brackets

Stock brackets are near impossible to find anymore, at least 'round here anyway. Not many companies are making aftermarket brackets either. All the good ole' chrome companies like Mr. Gasket offer jack! However MARCH www.marchperformance.com has some cool stuff, but its dressy aluminum and not cheap. Make sure you know if its a long or short water pump set up before you buy anything...

Re: Power steering pump brackets

Don't buy the march, it lines up with the pulley great but sticks the pump right against the alternator, it's designed to be used with all of their brackets.

Re: Power steering pump brackets

IIRC, These are OE brackets, PS on the left, Alt on the right, far right is
something else. This will give you a visual so you know what to look for.

Re: Power steering pump brackets

http://www.truckandcarshop.com/ carries the brackets you need if you cannot find them used elsewhere. Here is a link to their catalog page, complete with some nice pictures: http://www.truckandcarshop.com/trucks60_72/t60_109.html

I run the brackets off a '72 on my '69, so even though they are a little different they can interchange if you find the earlier style stuff.

They're proud of their stuff but it looks nice.

What blows my mind is that the cast piece is relatively cheap at $19 but the stamped steel piece is triple the cost?!?!?
