I need your thoughts!!!

My dad gave me his 1972 Chevy cheynne pick-up. He has owned this truck for the last 22 years. He bought this truck when I was 6 years old & I have always loved these trucks. The truck needs a carb, gas tank & a good tune up. We bought the eng new about 6 years ago & the trans was rebuilt at the same time. It has been parked for about 2 years but still runs. My main problem is that the body is a rust bucket. The wood bed is rotted out. I don't want to sell the truck cuz I always said that I was going to fix it up so that we could take it out to cruise nights. My question is that with a truck with this much rust where do I start? Should I look for a new cab? I don't have alot of money so I really don't know what to do.
